romance animes part 3

Hello all! Finally back with a new post! Today I wanted to talk about a couple of more romance animes/mangas I have watched and really loved. One is from when I was younger and the other a recent discovery this year. Without further ado!

Wotakoi: Love is hard for Otaku

Rating: 5 out of 5.

‘Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku’ is a josei romantic comedy manga and anime. It follows Narumi Momose as she starts a new job and tries to keep her otaku side a secret from her new coworkers. And then she is immediately outed by her childhood friend who just so happens to work there as well. It different then the romance animes I have watched in that the main characters are older, they are done with school and already working. It was nice to see something other than a high schooler falling in love.
I binged this in one night. It was so so good! The animation, the characters, the plot. Like every little thing made this anime so freaking good. So much so that I went out and bought the first three volumes of the manga. The characters are fun, let’s start there. Narumi and Hirotaka’s growing relationship is adorable and funny and so freaking cute. Plus, it wasn’t that far from what it possible/true from reality. Adults have interests and hobbies that someone might else disapprove of. But not only do we get the romance between Narumi and Hirotaka but we also get a great friendship featured between them and the other couple in the series Hanako Koyanagi and Taro Kabakura. And you all know how much I love friendship. Especially a good friendship.

Fruits Basket

Rating: 5 out of 5.

If you don’t know ‘Fruits Basket’ I don’t know where you have been. And even if you don’t like this type of anime/manga, you like ‘Fruits Basket’. Like everyone likes this one. Seriously. This slice of life, rom-com, supernatural series was originally produced in the early 2000s. Tohru Honda knows tragedy. She hasn’t had that easy of a life. Both her parents have passed away, the series opens up and she is living in a tent in the woods. Her life has been hard. And then she meets and becomes close to the mysterious Soma family who takes her in. But despite all this tragedy, Tohru is a kind, caring, and very compassionate character. And in turn, her friends and those who meet her, can’t help but want to care for her and protect her.
This one has come back into popularity because of the reboot and it is still so good. Certain members of the Soma family embody the 12 animals of the Zodiac. And guess who loves the story of the zodiac? Tohru Honda. I have read the manga and have watched the original anime and the first season of the new one and it still is so good. It is very nostalgic and it’s a comfort anime for me. Beyond the supernatural element, there are so many important and intense elements that can maybe be a lot. But still so important.

And there we have it. Romance animes part 3. I seriously recommend that you give these both a try. And I hope you enjoyed todays post!
