celebrate your friends

Hello all! How have you been doing?

I am very lucky that I am surrounded by some really good people who just so happen to be my friends. Some are even my best friends. And I say surrounded but let’s be real I only have a handful of people I would consider my friends. Less than 10 probably.

Growing up I never had that many friends. And even throughout high school I only had like 5 people I would have considered my ‘friend’. In college, I met my best friend, and later on, I met a few others that I have grown extremely close to.

It’s because of this that I feel that it is important to celebrate your friends. Especially your really good friends. Because these are the ones that are there for you through thick and thin. They are your 2 am ride or die, buddies. The ones that know you. That can read your mind with just one look. You look out for them and they look out for you. You care about them and how they are doing. You want to make sure they are handling life and all its bullshit and just want them to know that you are there for them.

So celebrate your friends. *Recognizing that things are a little difficult right now with the world situations, so not everything may be doable depending on where you are in the world.

care packages

I personally like to give my friends care packages. And they aren’t really anything extravagant or over the top. I am a recent graduate and currently not working (not by choice) so I can’t really spend that much. And you can really do just about anything here. There are no rules for these.

what to include:

I usually pack my care packages based on a formula. Which is: snack item + beauty item + candy item + fun item = a great care package.

For snacks, I usually try to find the snack size bags of their favorite chips or something else I know they like or that they might enjoy. Beauty items are usually face masks or something similar. I want them to have something just for them to use and like remind them to take care of themselves every once in a while too. Now if your friend just has the biggest sweet tooth you can absolutely bypass the snack for extra candy. One of my best friends has the biggest sweet tooths ever so candy is always welcomed. And very much loved.

Now for fun items, the last care package I gave my two friends had nail polish in them. I found their favorite colors in like a fun summery shade and popped those in there for them. But this can be anything! Literally, anything you want it to be. It can be a cheap ass toy that you know will make them giggle or it can be something a little nicer if you want to spoil them.

Spoil them!

Hello! The best ‘excuse’ to celebrate your friend. And this doesn’t mean you have to throw a party for your friend. But by all means, if you want to and have the ability to, go for it! You can take them out for lunch or a coffee or weather permitting, take them on a picnic! Those are always so much fun!

For gifts, you will obviously know your friend better than I do. And if you are ever struggling with gift ideas (like I do all the time) Google is your best friend! Sometimes on those lists, you can find something that might spark something or lead you to another gift idea.

I do like getting things I know my friends like that they may not always buy for themselves like trinkets of their favorite animes or TV shows. Something that I know will make them smile.

spend time together

Just hang out. Get together at someone’s house and just do whatever, do nothing if you want. Watch a movie together. Just sit and talk. Make food together, bake cookies, or cupcakes.

Go visit a park and stroll around and take pretty pictures of nature and the things around you. Go walk the downtown area and do some shopping. Get boba. Just spend some quality time with your friend.

Let them know you care about them. If they are important to you remind them of that.
