6 Books I’ve Never Read

Today I wanted to talk about books I’ve never read. You know the ones. They sit on your shelf untouched, covered in dust while those around you can’t stop talking about them. Or they are the ones recommended to you by everyone else but you just can’t seem to get past the first page. And it’s not that you think less of them they just don’t suit you. At all.

Here are a few books I’ve never read:

The Hunger Games~

Maybe it’s because I had already fallen in love with a dystopian world but I just never made it past the first page. And then the movies came out and everywhere I turned there it was. I know this series is popular and I had a friend who was obsessed with them but I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t like it. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will ever read this series.

Gone With the Wind~

This is a thick book. And I actually tried to read this one and I couldn’t get through it. It was like walking through thick, dense fog with no end in sight. And this is one that I really want to read. So this is on my list to read before I die. Also, I tried to read it when I was in my early teens and I was very particular about what I would read so it was a little ambitious for me back then. I feel that now this would be easier for me to read.

Jane Eyre~

I feel like I am seeing a trend here. I start reading but I never seem to make it that far, do I? Well, this one is not any different. I fell in love classics and I went on a sort of spree. I read Pride and Prejudice, then I read Wuthering Heights and then I tried to read this one but by that time I was burnt out. I really need to fix that cause this is one that has always fascinated me.

Now that we’ve talked about books I’ve never read, let’s talk about books I have yet to read. Ones I haven’t even opened yet but am planning to… One day… These are the ones I am almost ashamed to admit to the fact I haven’t read them yet.

A Court of Thorns and Roses~

I want to read this one so freaking bad. Why haven’t I just picked it up? I don’t know. I seriously can’t tell you why I haven’t read it yet. I have heard so many good things about this series and I want to read it!! I love seeing the fan artwork for it on Instagram and reading little snippets and quotes from it. One day very soon I will have read this and feel so satisfied having done so.

Illuminae~

Ok, so I actually own this one. I found it for a great price and couldn’t pass it up. I loved the cover art and summary. And how they tell the story was amazing and it reminded me of a series I read called Cathy’s Key which I loved. So I knew that I needed to read this one. I’ve had it for months now and have yet to pick it up. I am a horrible person lol.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before~

This one is another one that I had seen everywhere and was really interested in reading. I also own this one but it just sits on my shelf, gathering dust as I pass it over picking up a different book. Every. Single. Time. I love young adult romance novels. And I can only hope that when I do eventually pick this one up I will love it just as much as the others.

Alright, so we went over the ones I tried to read but never did. And we went over the ones that I haven’t even tried to read but plan to soon. I find it really difficult to decide what book I want to read sometimes. Now some of these books are really popular today and some are considered classics. I like to try to read a wide variety of books. Try being the operative word in this case.

Tell me, which book(s) haven’t you read? Will you try or no?
