“Any coincidence is worth noticing. You can throw it away later if it is only a coincidence.” ~ Agatha Christie,
I love Agatha Christie. She is one of my favorite authors and I love her work. Now, I did watch the movies and TV versions of the books, the Miss Marple ones, before I read most of them. And while there are changes they are still entertaining and good to watch.
Nemesis was a later novel in the Miss Marple universe and it features an unusual twist in having to solve a murder without knowing the who, when, or where. Without the essentials this murder mystery starts with a letter from a lawyer and a ticket for a bus tour.
Miss Marple is an unassuming little old lady, that many people overlook, that sees more than one might think. Her anecdotal comparisons between the problem at hand and her own little village of St. Mary Mead add another layer to her complexity and bring familiarity to the readers.
Nemesis features some familiar characters from an earlier novel and introduces new characters. Really interesting characters. The plot, the twists and turns, and the epic conclusion at the end. This is one of my favorite of hers. For sure.
